On the 25th of April, 2015 myself and a few friends had finished a trek to Mount Everest Base Camp and were in Kathmandu when the 7.8 magnitude earthquake rocked Nepal. Close to 9,000 people lost their lives with millions more displaced from the biggest natural disaster in Nepal’s recorded history. We were blessed to have escaped unharmed and even further blessed by having the opportunity to deliver aid and help with some of the relief efforts in the months that followed.
On the back of the relief work and tremendous support that we received while assisting in Nepal, myself and 3 friends set up a project to help raise funds to continue helping rebuild Nepal after we had left. The project is called Nepal 425 and 10% of profits generated by The Freedom Fighter will be donated to our partner organisation in Nepal – Volnepal.
