My 2016 book challenge is not going according to plan. While I get frustrated with myself for not reaching this goal, I also know that I need to let go of things and not let them bother me. Which is exactly what the book that I finished helped me to remember. "The Dalai Lama's Cat", was recommended to me almost a year ago and I finally got around to reading it a few days ago. I loved it.
The story is told by the cat belonging to the Dalai Lama, that is facing some of her own personal (cat) insecurities and everyday problems, much like the problems that we all face in our day to day lives. Lessons are learned as the cat listens to the Dalai Lama speaking to the guests that come to visit him and the wisdom he passes on to his followers and staff. It's a short read and a simple introduction to Buddhism - I thoroughly enjoy it and would recommend it.
